Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a exciting storyline showcasing celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in strength within the urban setting.
Warning: Spoilers for the third episode of the new season are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and introduced the initial group of characters who will separate from the central cast to undertake their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might appear out of place, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
First, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a violent opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a individual motive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their reputation as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the group reach locations they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character pledged a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are sought by the powers that govern the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Explorers and Strategists parties.
Fans can expect finding out which adventurers will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, released on October 24.
